FameLab (https://famelabpoland.pl/) is one of the most prestigious international science communication competitions for young researchers. Established in 2005 in the United Kingdom, the programme has been organized in more than 30 countries and has become a globally recognized platform for promoting excellence in science communication.

The Polish edition is currently organized by the University of Silesia in Katowice and brings together talented students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers from various scientific disciplines.

In 2026, there are more than 100 participants, and I (Karima Afandi) was chosen as one of the finalists (Top 12) who will compete for the national final on 8-9 June 2026 in Katowice after rounds of audition and semi-final.

Participation in the FameLab Poland Final is a significant achievement, as finalists are selected through a competitive evaluation process and represent a group of researchers with outstanding communication skills and scientific potential. In addition to the competition itself, the event includes intensive training sessions, workshops, and mentoring activities focused on public speaking, science communication, audience engagement, and the effective dissemination of scientific knowledge.
