Joint Doctoral Project available for candidates! NAWA STER – Additional recruitment

Deadline for submitting – 15 August 2021.

We welcome applications to a Ph.D student position in NAWA funded STER scholarship leading to a joint doctoral degree in biological and agricultural sciences. The project will be conducted in the partnership with the University of Rostock.

Four-year Ph.D. position starting 1 September 2021, available in the Department of Microbiology Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

First NAWA STER Scholarship Winners Announced!

We are delighted to announce that the first recipients of NAWA STER scholarship have been successfully selected from a pool of candidates.

The chosen candidates are:

  1. Benedikt Weigand, University of Würzburg, Germany (selected for the project titled: The Teutonic Order and its bailiwicks (‘Ballei’): A comparison between Prussia and Burgundy (Lotharingia), under the supervison of prof. R. Czaja).
  2. Amina Laouid, National School of Applied Sciences, El Jadida, Morocco (selected for the project titled: Nanostructures and thin films of metalorganics complexes and hybrid perovskites for applications in optoelectronics and photovoltaics, under the supervision of dr hab. Anna Zawadzka, prof. UMK).

Congratulations!!!

We hope the projects will give the candidates a tremendous opportunity to develop their academic skills.

The projects will be conducted within the scope of the project entitled “Internationalization of PhD Schools at NCU: a platform for joint and double degree” [PhD@NCU], implemented by NCU Doctoral Schools, as part of the STER Program – Internationalization of PhD Schools of the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA.

NCU AWARD ED IN THE STER PROGRAMME

We are proud to announce that Nicolaus Copernicus University has received funding under the STER Programme: The Internationalisation of doctoral schools. The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange granted a system support package for the period from 04/01/2020 to 31/12/2023.

The Team composed of the Heads of all Doctoral Schools run at the University and led by the Head of the Interdisciplinary PhD School “Academia Copernicana”, prof. dr hab. Katarzyna Hrynkiewicz has commenced work on the project titled: Internationalization of PhD schools at NCU: a platform for joint & double degrees (PhD@NCU).

This groundbreaking undertaking aims to foster the development of collaboration with recognized foreign research units,  strengthen and expand outreach activities to attract, and support the most able candidates from all over the world and substantially increase academic potential by conducting  international projects aimed at obtaining a “joint” and “double degree”.
